Parents Association

Carlanstown NS Parents Association is long established within the school. The association is a representation of parents/guardians of children at the school and acts as a liaison between the school and parents. It works to support the students and staff in activities and also is a vehicle for raising matters which may be of interest to the school. A new association is formed or renewed every year at the AGM in October and there is usually an informal meeting once a month.

Each year the Parents Association organise two main fundraising activities: The Christmas Raffle & The Sponsored Cycle. The money raised is used to support teaching and learning for all our pupils e.g. Purchase of reading schemes for the Literacy Hour at all class levels, purchase of Books for the Book Rental Scheme, Playground & PE equipment, Drama & Music Lessons.

• The Parent Association provides light refreshments for Graduations, Information Evenings, Junior Infants Open Morning and Sports Day.
• The Parents Association also ensures that all the boys & girls from  Second Class  & Sixth Class receive special tokens and treats to mark the occassion of their First Holy Communion & Confirmation.

Any parent is welcome to join the committee at any stage during the year.
