Our six week coding programme for Term 1 finished last Friday.
The Third Class children have been using Scratch to create simple animations and games. They have learned how to add and edit sound files and enjoyed using the Makey Makey. Each week they worked independently on a short project to find and correct a bug. During the final workshop they created a Christmas game in Scratch.
Our Coding Ambassadors from Sixth Class were a huge support to our Third Class group as they acquired theae new skills.
FIfth & Sixth Class have progressed very quickly using the Micro:bit. They have created animations & used sensors to check light level, sound and temperature.
They have also used objects to test for conductivity and made some complex circuits. They also used their knowledge of conductors to create a game with the Makey Makey.
During the last class before Christmas,
they each created a Christmas tree & added lights using LEDS and crocodile clips. They then coded the lights to flash!
