6th class have been following the presidential race closely, familiarising themselves with the candidates, and voting in a mock election! We have learned about the responsibilities of the president, the presidential nomination process, and what voting on polling day looks like. The children have identified qualities they would like to see in the next president of Ireland. We also filmed an explanatory video on the process of becoming president, which was premiered at our school assembly!
