We are absolutely delighted to share the fantastic news that our school has been awarded the Active School Flag!
This is a wonderful achievement that recognises our whole-school commitment to promoting physical activity and wellbeing among our pupils. The Active Flag initiative encourages schools across Ireland to get more active, more often – and we’re proud to say that our pupils and staff have embraced this challenge with enthusiasm, creativity, and teamwork.
To earn the Active Flag, we undertook a range of activities and initiatives over the past year, including:
▪︎ Organising Active Breaks throughout the school day
▪︎ Hosting fun and inclusive sports events and Active Weeks
▪︎ Involving pupils in leading and promoting physical activity across all classes.
Today, we shared the exciting news with all of our classes, and the response from the children was full of pride and excitement.
We look forward to celebrating this achievement together with the whole school community at an official flag raising ceremony in the autumn. More details will follow closer to the time.
