Partnerships

The Pupils

One of the most important partnerships in the Active School Flag programme is with the pupils of the school. Our school has worked so hard this year in promoting active initiatives amongst our pupils and ensuring that everyone is encouraged to be as active as possible!

The student council and the 6th class prefects have been an amazing assistance while we promote our Active Schools goals. They take charge in liaising with the classes, delivering key messages and reminders and assisting with equipment maintenance.

Our Active School Slogan was chosen after we held a competition across the school. Two school staff members chose their favourite slogan which was created by Brooke Mulholland in 3rd class.

The Local Community

There are a huge variety of clubs in our locality which offer our pupils different ways to keep active outside of school. Earlier this year, we conducted a survey to see what clubs our pupils from 1st class to 6th class are part of. The results of this survey proved to us just how active our students are! In addition, this survey highlights the sheer variety of clubs available locally which might serve to inspire some of our students to join a new club!

All of our children’s achievements, both inside and outside school, are celebrated. They are showcased on our Achievements Wall as well as celebrated at the weekly assembly. We are so proud of our amazing pupils.

Local Sports Partnership

We have a close relationship with our Local Sports Partnership team. We are recipients of their monthly newsletter outlining any upcoming events and often attend teacher CPD training for PE strands with the LSP. We have been in contact with their Sports Inclusion Disability Officer for advice on how to further adapt our PE programme for children with additional physical needs.

Local Support

We are so lucky to have a supportive community behind us in Carlanstown NS. Earlier in the year at the Cumann na mBunscol Final our boys were crowned champions! To say they were well supported would be an understatement. The village was painted in red and black with flags to be seen everywhere. Our local store Centra were proud sponsors are a huge support to our boys throughout the tournament. A massive crowd turned up on the day to support our team and enjoy the excitement of what proved to be a nail-biting and thrilling game in Pairc Tailteann.
